The SMDA4 Interface Box is a versatile device designed to enhance audio connectivity in surveillance systems. It is specifically designed to be located next to a DVR or IP camera, providing convenient access to audio inputs and outputs.
Easy Installation and Power Source
The SMDA4 requires a 120VAC power source within 3 feet of its location. In cases where this proximity is not possible, you can extend the distance between the AC power source and the SMDA4 by splicing in up to 100 feet of 18 AWG, 2 conductor cable.
Flexible Input and Output Options
The input to the SMDA4 can be connected directly to any Sound Surveillance™ microphone or any other “line level” input signal. It is important to note that only one input type should be used at a time, and simultaneous use of both inputs is not recommended. The master level control allows you to adjust the overall input level, providing x2 gain for weaker signals or attenuation for stronger signals. This control also determines the volume of audio that is fed into each channel output. Each audio output level can be individually adjusted, allowing for customization based on the sensitivity of the connected equipment. These outputs are typically connected to the audio inputs of DVRs, IP cameras, or ETS base station microphone inputs.
Extended Connectivity
For extended connectivity, the SMDA4 supports the use of audio coaxial cable and field-installable RCA or 3.5mm connectors.
